The oxymoron of the style name could not fit beer to Rudeen’s taste. His deep mahogany black colour is not only for the looks but also hides a generous amount of chocolaty caramel roastiness. Hops gives it a huge fruity and resiny aroma and taste. It is creamy, refreshing and bitter at the same time. We advise you to close your eyes, smell and then taste this bold beer which marries stout, porter and a big IPA. A perfect balance between hops, mellow roastiness from the malt, creaminess and drinkability is something that we are especially proud of. Be careful! He bites!

Bottle at home, bought from Beerwulf. Dark brown color, beige head. A pity it disappears. Very good taste, chocolate! A very good beer. This will even be better in autumn or winter!

Tap @ Gulating Pub, Stavanger. Almost clear deep amber body with a small tan head. Aroma is medium dark malt, mild roast, coffee and hint of chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet, dark malt, medium roasted, some coffee, grapefruit, OK bitterness and hint of coffee. Fine balanced body and OK aftertaste. Rather nice BIPA.

Nicely balanced mix of the roasty characteristics of darker beers and the fruity bitterness of a good IPA.

Keg at Mel’s Craft beer and cafe. Pours black with a thin white head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa and dried fruits. Taste is a nice roasted malt, coffee and cocoa hit that gives way to a bitter hoppy finish, a bit of pine and some dryness. Carbonation good. A solid CDA
