Pours black, topped with a medium sized beige head, pretty lasting. Mild grapefruit nose with roastiness and chocolate in the back. Moderate bitterness, a bit herbal feel to it with some coffee roastiness. Medium body, quite creamy. Quite piney and herbal, a bit too harsh, in the aftertaste, but still very likeable. Their best brew so far.

Boca 0,33L - opet ugodno iznenađenje iz Medvedgrada...poslije Fakina još jedna odlična IPA samo ovaj put u crnoj boji, odlična gorčina...

Bottle, 0.33l. Pours hazy dark ruby body with small, slightly off-white head. Head itself goes down fairly quickly, however leaving a thin layer throughout the whole drink. Decent lacing on the glass. Smell is mostly fruity with strong hop presence and subtle roastiness and a hint of coffee in the background. Medium bodied with somewhat light texture, subtly carbonated. Taste is hoppy bitter, not too agressive, nicely balanced with the malts. Aroma of hops, roasted malts, coffee, citrus, caramel, berries. A bit woody. Touch of liquor. Dry mouthfeel followed by equally dry and long lasting hoppy finish. Overall, very nice brew. Tasty.

Jan. ’16. On tap at Medvedgrad, Ilica. Poured a clear, dark brown body with medium sized beige head. Very nice hoppy aroma, herbal, less citrus and fruity with only a bit of coffee. Flavor was bitter, predominately herbal, roasted malty, coffee, with light biscuit and caramel sweetness. Medium body. Long, not overy bitter herbal(dry) and coffee finish. Very nice indeed, among the best of their releases!

On tap at Medvedgrad Ilica. Deep brown coloured, small creamy off-white head, fruity hoppy nose. Roasted malt, citrusy and fruity hoppy, touch of alcohol and some herbal notes in rather mild roasty finish. Loooong bitter aftertaste. Not the best from Medvedgrad but once again decent brew.

2016:Now, last year, even though my review doesn’t note it had some diacetyl and I was eager to try it again this year. On tap and in the bottle at the promo. Dark brown-red body with a small off-white head. Mild herbal-citric aroma mainly, but fine. Taste... again the hoppy citric and herbal notes up front, light chocolate, light caramel, some licorice (!) even, especially in the tap version that night, solid bitterness. Light, but clean and nice, well balanced. Definitely a good, if lighter perhaps flavor-wise, Black IPA. The rating stays, fully earned. Hats off.2015:First commercial Croatian "Black IPA". On tap at Medvedgrad Ilica back on Thursday. We’ve come a long way, baby! :) poured a hazy cola-dark brown body with a small creamy off white head. The first glass I got wasn’t washed properly, so I got some off notes in the aroma that I didn’t noticed at second try, so they didn’t really belong to the beer. Immediate note of aroma hops, citric, slightly sweetish. Soft, medium body, with a long, roasty finish, light chocolate. Solid bitterness. Mild citric-herbal notes. Slightly too subdued, but leet it warm and they rise up and mingle well with the rest. A well crafted, tasty beer that won’t knock an experienced beer drinker’s socks off, but will definitely be my weapon of choice for as long as it’s on tap there. Good job! 7/4/3/7/14

On tap at the brewpub, initiation party for this beer. Dark reddish brown, small to medium steady off white to tan head. Floral hops, medium hopped, some dry fruits, biscuit. Bitter kick, honey sweetness in the background. Bitter finish, light to medium body. Nice surprise from Medvedgrad (Bear Town).
