Saison Dekot

Nov. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle, finally found it on time at Mali Ducan, Split, I think its third batch in total, a bit larger this time. It poured a hazy golden to orange body with medium to big head. Orange aroma, honey, some other sweetish fruit (now I see it’s quince) and yeast. Flavor was very yeasty, chalky. Then lightly sourish and just a little bit sweet fruity. Very subtle peppery spicy note. I didn’t get much, if any elderflower, one of my favorites in such beers or it just drowned in mild apricot or peach fruitiness. Thinner in body, except than yeast which made it taste fuller, although dampened the finish, which was short, chalky with touch of honey at the very end which I missed in its flavor. Low carbonation. Okay for a saison, although, as always, I must point out it’s one of my least favorite styles.

Bottled. A hazy amber Beer with a yellowish Head. The aroma has notes of spices, malt, hos, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, hops, and spices, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle at a private tasting with daniele and Mortlach in Rome-Italy. Hazy orange pourm little foam lowering fast. Nose: esters a bit, ripped notes, a bit astringency. Mouth: a bit flat, watery, candy sugar. Thanks heavy.

Bottle, 330 ml, courtesy of and shared with JFK10000. Pours golden with large white head. Malty, citrus, spicy, yeasty. Bit sourish. Finishes dry.

Bottle from trade with Cuso and Gurthnar, many thanks! Pours slightly hazy orange golden colour with a small off-white head. aroma of riped fruits, banana, spices. Taste of riped banana, clove, sweet malt, yeast, high carbonation.

Bottle brought by Marko, thanks! Considerably spicy and sourish. Maybe a bit single-dimensional but otherwise fine and fits in the saison style. High carbonation, refreshing.

Bottle kindly donated by Marko. Golden color with huge white head. Nice orange fruity aroma with spices. Taste, malt, yeast, oranges, tangerine zest, spices. Good.

Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb, shared with Marko and hrabren. Unclear golden coloured, medium to big sized snow white head, whiff of quinces in slightly acidic nose. Moderate malty, fruity, light grainy and some spices with touch of quinces in rather dry finish. Not bad at all.
