Pouring a deep and naturally hazy amber with a robust, lingering white head, spicy Slovenian hops, German malts, and classic French saison yeast, come together for the first of our seasonal saisons.

The addition of ginger and pink peppercorns adds a subtle spiciness that gives way to fruity yeast esters, all lifted by a lively carbonation. A refreshing twist to a classic style. 15 SRM.

On tap at Fakin Craft Bar, Zagreb. Clear light amber. Spicy, fruity, floral and herbal. Ginger and residual sugar. Dry, light sour, dusty. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, moderatly lasting light dry finish. Nice, not spectacular.

On tap at Craft Room, Zagreb. Pours hazy orange, small white head. Spicy, ginger, sweetish, some citrus sourish note in the middle, average carbonation, medium bodied. Unusual, doesn’t have a classic saison profile, unusual spices.

Unclear to hazy, golden-yellow colored, small white head. Aroma is of some malt, medium- fruity, less spicy notes, light yeast. Taste is medium sweet malt, moderate fruity, light spicy with ginger, sweetish peppercorn, medium- bitterness, light yeasty. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily. The dry hopped version is more appealing and it also has more of the standard saison profile, if that makes sense. (on tap, Fakin, Zagreb)

Tap at Fakin. Ginger is the main perceived component of flavour for me. Lacks carbonation, no head to speak of. Rich flowery fruity profile though. Slightly warming. Tasty, good.

On tap at the brewery. Unclear golden coloured, small white head, mild spicy fruity nose. Ginger is dominant here, some berries, light fruity and spicy with mild citrusy notes. Some mild bitterness in the finish. Pleasant saison.

On tap at the brewery, courtesy of The Garden’s head brewer Nick - who this time apparently wasn’t there - this was fully pulled off by the assistant brewers, good job! Somewhat misty dark amber body. Complex perfumey aroma, soft, with ginger breaking through some subdued funk. Nice! Lean but quite soft body (they used oats to balance things out apparently), perfumey funkiness if that makes sense backed with ginger, a citric touch here end there and some spicy bitterness. Quite clean for the style yet complex enough, sweetish, not a world beater, but quite drinkable. Well done.
