Jednoga dana vitez Nikola Malakoci izašao je kao pobjednik turnira na dvoru grofa Jurja IV. Zrinskog. Prvu nagradu mu je predala najljepša uzvanica turnira, mlada Izabela Petroci. U zapisima piše: „Da mu je davala nagradu obedva su počerleneli, dok su v oči jen drugomu pogledali“. Da bi lakše zadobio Izabelinu ruku grof Zrinski darovao je Nikoli dvorac Gradišćak i toliko zemlje uokolo, dokle će Nikola baciti svoj buzdovan. Nikola je snažno zamahnuo i buzdovan je pao u Lapšinu, jako blizu mjesta gdje danas rastu voćnjaci najboljih jabuka iz kojih je cider stvoren.

Bottle at Black Dog, Split, 26/04/19. Pale, veering towards translucent yellow, with a thin white head that soon dissipates. Nose is candied apples, straw, grass, light wood. Taste comprises bittersweet apples, light tannins, grass, trace of funk, light sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close. Decent enough cider.

Bottle at Pivnica pivac. Relatively simple,singledimensional. Only basic apple character, lacking in complexity. Lightly sour, very thin bodied. Very low sweetness, light tartness. Rather average.

On tap at Craft Room, Zagreb. Clear golden, no head. Lots of apple, light sweetness, moderate +acidity, light bodied. Not very complex, but nice nevertheless.

Bottle at Craft Room. Almost fully clear body. Gilded water. Full sweetish aroma, ripe reed apples, cherries and banana in the aroma, slightly tart. Very nice. Cherry juice and apple tartness is basically the taste, which is impressive considering it’s apple-only. Mild carbonation, medium tartness yet not in the finish, which is nice. Not bad at all really. Not as rustic / HC true as Balissae could be, but a solid, needed new presence on the market.
