Mastri Birrai Umbri’s IPA is produced in Italy according to the traditional British style. It’s brewed with the best selection of pale and amber malts, top fermenting yeast and aromatic hops. It features an intense and cloudy amber colour with copper tones and a compact and persistent head. The aroma is characterized by the intensity of hops, with citrus and resinous notes, resulting from the dry hop with American and New Zealand hop varieties. The flavour is characterised by an important bitterness, balanced by the use of special malts which confer sweet malty notes; the finish is dry and fruity.

300ml bottle from the Boise Co-op. Medium, cloudy amber, towering fluffy head. Malty aroma with earthy, woody notes. Taste brings more sweet malts, oak, a touch of astringent hops. Very much in the English style.

0.3 l bottle, a sample from Cro Craft. Shared at the Pivoteka Tasting Table. Hazy golden, small off-white head. Aroma is green apple, bread, cardboard. Flavour is harsh herbal, plastic, grain. Slightly bitter. Unpleasant. Light body, moderate carbonation, light finish.

From bottle to glass. Pours cloudy sunset orange with minimal white head that fades quickly. Malty on both the aroma and flavor. Earthy in the flavor. Slight orange flavor as it warmed.

50cl bottle. Pours opaque, dark gold, with fine white foam. Aroma is citrus and resinous. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste is medium bitter, moderately sweet. Final is average.

Bottle from Kaufland. And it's kinda hart to rate as I have no clue on Italian expectations from IPA. However if I go usual standards it's sweetish beer, not brave enough to call it ale even.

# 1660; 12/2019. Sweet, caramel, tropical fruits in aroma. Hazy orange color, without head. Full bodied, sweet, fruitty, zesty. Too much sweet for me. 0,3 l, bottle, gift.
