Mastri Birrai Umbri’s IPA is produced in Italy according to the traditional British style. It’s brewed with the best selection of pale and amber malts, top fermenting yeast and aromatic hops. It features an intense and cloudy amber colour with copper tones and a compact and persistent head. The aroma is characterized by the intensity of hops, with citrus and resinous notes, resulting from the dry hop with American and New Zealand hop varieties. The flavour is characterised by an important bitterness, balanced by the use of special malts which confer sweet malty notes; the finish is dry and fruity.

20-09-19 // bottle shared at home. Gift from the parents. Opaque amber golden. White head. Malt sweetness in the nose. Boring. No character. Not well balanced. Bitter in the end. Malt sweet in the beginning.

(bottle 0,75l) Overall: Good IPA. Tropical fruity hoppy and bitter. Aroma: Hoppy, tropical fruits, peach, light citrusy. Appearance: Hazy golden. Persistent white head. Taste: Grassy hops, medium sweet, medium bitter, tropical fruits, peach. Palate: Medium body. Long bitter finish.

Bottled 300ml. -from local Plodine Karlovac. Orange/golden coloured, small white head, weak citrusy herbal nose. Sweet malty, caramel, light citrus and some herbs with notes of honey. Bitter/sweet finish. Nothing special here.

Bottle, 0.3l. Murky deep copper pour, one finger frothy off-white head. Low to medium retention, a bit of broken lacing on the glass. Intense caramel on the nose, grassy hops in the background. Also, somewhat herbal. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture. Strong bitter taste, feels a bit harsh and unbalanced. Mild sweet notes in the background. Aroma of caramel and herbs. Notes of pine, strong herbal spiciness. Lingering bitterness and alcohol burn. Slightly sticky. Quite dry. Long finish. Overall, nothing exciting going on here. Mediocre IPA, unbalanced and with lots of harsh bitterness. Drinkable but not something I'd go back to.

Bottle from Victa, shared with heavy. Creamy-yeasty aroma, some fruity hoppiness, bready touches, eeh. Okay. Soft creamy taste, tangerine, almost no bitterness (what is is harsh), maybe vaguely yeasty. Okay beer, not more.

Cloudy pale amber colour, tall creamy off-white head, dissipates slowly leaving heavy lacing. Aroma toasted malts, caramel, grain, straw, light fruity notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, earthy, burnt caramel. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Decent beer but not really an IPA, lacks the necessary amount of hop bitterness.
