Berliner Weisse-Style Ale with Added Passionfruit, Orange & Guava
We’ve had plenty of fan-favorite beers over the years, but few have garnered the cult-like adoration of this one. Stone Notorious P.O.G. was originally brewed at our 10bbl Liberty Station brewhouse in San Diego, as a collaboration with comedian / actor Jonah Ray. It’s a tribute to the passion fruit, orange and guava juice (aka POG) he grew up drinking in Hawaii. This Berliner Weisse-style ale is loaded with the aforementioned trifecta of fresh, tropical fruits, making for a unique flavor that’s tart and refreshing yet deeply rich and complex. It’s as ridiculously tasty as it is deliciously unique.
This beer was first brewed with Jonah Ray for Hop-Con 4.0. It was such a hit that we decided to brew a limited amount again this year. Jonah grew up playing POGs while he was living in Hawaii and drinking POG Juice so he wanted to create a beer with POG in mind. A very refreshing tart ale with plenty of fruit character. Passion fruit and guava intermingle with an intense orange punch.
Admin Note: This was initially released as part of the Stone Pilot Series in a limited draft-only release.

I’ve had better berliner weisse. This mostly orange not passion fruit nor guava. But at least the name and the can are super cool.

Canned May 5th 2020.
Pours a cloudy colour of lemonade with a tinge of orange.
Wow, it's not shy with the aromas; passionfruit, oranges, guava, very good tropical fruit smells.
Passionfruit is number one in the taste, guava is well represented, orange zest rounds it out with a light blast of fruity tartness.
Good body for the light abv.
The rest of the 6pack will be easy to drink. I really enjoy this offering from Stone.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Very passionfruit forward nose with orange pith aromas. More of the same on the palate. Sprity carbonation not unlike Orangina. The guava comes out as it warms up. Very drinkable and not overly acidic. Spritzy orange and passionfruit on the finish that lingers.

Canette métallique 50 cl. Bière dorée brumeuse. Nez sur l'orange, le fruit exotique. Bouche plutôt douce avec une pointe d'acidité. Pas terrible mais je ne suis pas fan de berliner weisse à la base.

12oz can. Poured a very cloudy golden yellow color, huge fluffy white head. Aroma was orange, passion fruit. Sharp tartness, not so much sour as just tart in general. Okay, wish I liked this one a bit more than I ended up since this is right up my alley.

32oz crowler pours with a hazy nearly opaque gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up peach and tangelo like juices as well as of lemon. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of soft peach and juicy tangelo plowing into sharper notes of lemon and grapefruit rind. This works. Refreshing.
