Brewed to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, we’ve taken the best bits from the recipe and design of our Royal Wedding beer from last year to create our latest commemorative Ale.

Head Brewer Fergus Fitzgerald explains, “Diamond Ale is brewed with Pale Ale and Premium Cara malts, with Sovereign hops and locally-sourced honey. It’s a 4.1% abv amber gold beer with a sweet, honeyed, floral aroma. On the palate, it has a slight floral sweetness balanced by biscuity malt and crisp bitterness.”

On tap @ the Toby Carvery, Edinburgh. Pours amber with a decent head. The nose has a combination of sweet malt and fruit - probably apples or grapes. The apples and sweet malt are confirmed on the taste. The palate was better than expected as I thought there would be a finish that was too astringently malty - but instead the medium body and creamy texture ended with a clean hop with reasonable bitterness. I enjoyed this.
