12oz bottle. Poured a mostly clear amber color, fluffy white head. Aroma was a bit citrus, a bit skunk, a bit like Newcastle. It was drinkable, inoffensive, and boring. No real hop notes, despite what is mentioned on the bottle.

Dandelion, lilly, and honey nose. Clear amber, medium white head, nice lacing. Floral and sweet, just as it smells, but with greater intensity. The floral notes vacate in the finish leaving only a honey sweetness with an additional bready wheat flavor. Sessionable, flavorful, delicious. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! This is better than a lot of true craft beers. Keep innovating, Heineken/Newcastle. I like it!

12 oz bottle into English pint. Pours a clear deep gold with a nice white pillowy head that lingers; leaves some lace that sticks to the glass from the top of the pour line all the way down to the bottom. Aroma is caramel malt and bread. I smell no hops for a supposedly hoppy beer. I hope I didn’t get an expired bottle. Taste is lightly sweet with some faint bitterness in the finish. Kind of bland. Carbonation and body are medium, mouthfeel is creamy. A simple summertime chugger that has no English characteristics whatsoever. I know it’s aimed at the American market, but you think they could have given it some kind of British flair.

Bottle. Poured pale clear yellow with thin lasting head. Little lacing. Pleasant faint aroma, summer grass. Light body, light malt flavour, a bit of breadiness. Rather thin finish. This is not a bad ale, bur merely ordinary.

Buffulo Billiards, DC (tap): This was the only beer that I never had at the bar. Looks like an ESB, when i saw it. Copper body with an off-whitish head. Aroma is of malts and mildest notes of hops. The beer itself is rather smooth. Really not that bad. Got some hop bitterness, along with a sort of sweetish burnt finish. A few bready and toffee notes in there as well. Not bad, but not really that good either.

Enjoyed from 12 oz bottle. I’m a fan of Newcastle Brown, so I figured I’d give this a shot. It’s just average. Appearance is a clear/cloudy amber gold with not much head. Taste is crisp but somewhat flat as well, an unusual array of malt and a very faint backing of hops. Aroma is rather bland. It’s a good beer to consume when backyard barbecuing, otherwise not something I’d drink again.

Location: Draft at Texas-Arizona, 7/13/10
Aroma: Kind of dull aroma of straw, grass, grains, earth, and corn
Appearance: Pours a pretty much clear orange color with basically no head
Flavor: The flavor is balanced between yeast/corn malts, and grass/straw hops
Palate: Light body, somewhat on the thin side, decent drinkability, and moderate carbonation
Overall Impression: On that rare occasion that I see a beer in a Hoboken bar that I haven't tried before, I figure I have to try it. This one was unsurprisingly unexciting. The best thing I can say about it: Not a terrible beer for a BBQ or tailgate, but that's about it.

Had this at the Pittsburgh Great European Beer Festival at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium 6/2010. From a bottle. Looks like pale lager. No head. Slight friendly soda pop aroma. Good tingle and CO2 on the palate. Flavors of pleasant hay. Enjoyable and fun, a good beer experience. Some slight beer bitterness on the finish. One of the better mild beers at fest, glad to have had the chance to taste this stuff.

Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a medium amber color with a small white head that produced a small amount of lacing. The aroma was lightly bitter, nutty and dry. The flavor was lightly dry, nutty and yeasty. The finish was long, dry and nutty. Medium body. Not a whole lot going on flavor wise but not unpleasant.

12oz bottle. Pretty surprised to see a new one from Newcastle on the shelf. Filtered orange-tan color, with a soapy, foamy head. Smooth and toasty, with flash of hop bitterness. I’m rating this one cold, but I have certainly found that it improves as it warms, and displays much more character that way. I really enjoy this beer, it’s nice to have a good English session beer in Wisconsin.
