Combining the lyrical elegance of Wales’ best loved bard and refined quality of Wales’ favourite beer, Milkwood epitomises the Dylan Thomas’ maxim - “Live, Love & Drink Beer”. The unique character of rye crystal and malted oats brings russet red colouring and smooth toffee poetically balanced by a crisp bitterness from Goldings hops.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Clear, red-brown pour with no head. Weak nose, some faint roast and brown sugar. Nice flavor, lightly sweet, some toast, faint fruit and toffee, followed by herbal bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Light dry finish, bit of toasty malts, mild grass hops. Not bad, quite passable.

Cask handpull at JDW Willow Walk Victoria. Amber copper clear beer with thin beige head. Its a slightly yeasty bitter. Wow. How to brew a beer like hundreds of others. Nothing wrong with it. If anything its a decent bitter with yeast character some malt toffee and some finishing dryness with excellent condition in mouth. Its just that it could more or less be any British 4% brown bitter. Fine but dull except the condition which is excellent

On tap at Nags Head Inn, pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is almost non-existent, maybe light toffee. Flavour of subtle toffee, nuts and toasted caramel - very subtle flavours and light body. Decent.

Amber, nut brown color, steady creamy beige head. Light sweetish nose is caramelly and nutty. Light to medium-bodied. Flavor is nutty, some caramel malts and drying finish. Woody notes too. Quite easy and forgettable.
