Cask @ Yates’s, Halifax. A light, clear chestnut brown as you might expect given the name! It’s aroma is malty, earthy and woody, with some malts in its taste alongside a very small nuttiness. Dryish flavour but crisp texture.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 18/02/2012. Copper coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, caramel, beery fruit and cereal aroma. Flavour was similar, with some fruit cake sweet and nuttiness, solid malts and a gently bitter finish. Decent.
