It was awarded "Best Alcohol Drink" in London at The Excellence in Food and Drinks Awards 2006. An explosion of flavours originating from American Cascade hops gives this brilliant pale golden beer a fresh aroma and fruit filled finish.

Cask, Pow, Farnborough. Vague citrus aroma. A hazy gold. Thin bubbly white head. Smooth light bitter with citrus bite. Medium bodied. Crisp. Average carb. Abrupt finish. Decent enough... for a gold.

Bottle from Sidmouth Wines, Sidmouth. Amber gold with a very thin head. From a clear bottle so a little skunky, but there is some orange fruitiness in both aroma and taste, alongside some malts.

330ml bottle. Barely clear golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and slightly strawy aroma meets luckily citrusy hoppy overtones with a lemon touch. Taste is cautiously citrusy hoppy, grainy, strawy basis; slightly watery. A bit poor for a 25th anniversary Ale - and at the same time a document for the development of the craft beer scene: I could swear you’ll find a "Better Alcohol Drink" in London today. Maybe you could already in 2006. But that could mean to discredit ’The Excellence in Food and Drinks Awards’ - an objective not to be pursuited at this point, naturally.
