Golden pour with an ok head Moderate intensity in the aroma…but it would be better with no aroma. Because it really stinked… Malty, herbal and cardboard in the flavor Nothing to recommend anyone on this planet [Bottle at Hamar sessions 20]

33cl bottle from the 'Haus der 131 Biere' van at the Erkelenz Bierborse on 5th July 2019. In my drunken state I thought this was a new Angolan country tick, should have known better I suppose. Anyway this is a bog standard lager in a bottle that lets you think it's from Angola.

Der Biername ist die portugisische Bezeichnung für die Riesen-Rappen-Antilope (Hippotragus niger variani), dem Nationaltier von Angola. Im Internet findet sich ein gewisser "Dr. Feliciano De Carvalho Loa Brews" als Brauer(ei), auf der Flasche ist aber nur die belgische Brauerei Strubbe vermerkt. Vertrieben wird es über das "Haus der 131 Biere" in Hamburg. Da ich kein MHD auf der Flasche gefunden habe, weiß ich nicht sicher, ob mein Bier nicht schon abgelaufen war. Es war ziemlich sauer, was für ein derartig exotisches Bier aber nichts ungewöhnliches wäre. Damit lässt es wenig Spielraum für weitere Aromen. Ein Bier für eine bierige Weltreise zu Hause, aber kein Gaumengenuss.

33cl bottle. Pours clear pale golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grain, pale malt and cheap hops. Taste is grainy, metallic hops, pale malt.
