Half at Bulls Head, Birmingham. Pours an amber with small consistent beige head. Taste is malty, raisin, a bit dishwater. Good bitterness but that's about it. Very mediocre.

Cask at Butlers Bell, Stafford (at 4.2%). Pours golden amber with a small scummy off-white head and good lacing. Hops are the mainstay of the aroma, giving both fruity tones and bitterness. In the mouth it starts off with malts, traditional hops and dried fruit. After a while it becomes quite bitter with this lasting into the slightly dry finish. Overall this is a reasonable bitter – but somewhat boring.

Gravity cask at the Walsall Camra, beer festival 2015. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is light hop, light creamy malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth malt, woody hop bitter palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. A decent session bitter and a real blast from the past!

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF, 2004] A hazy amber beer with no head. The aroma is of diacethyl - as if it hasn’t finished fermenting. The flavor is yesty and like unfermented wort, though with a slight bitter or more dry finish.
