Tyler Brown has travelled to Marston’s Brewery, in Staffordshire, to brew this golden-coloured beer especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. Refreshing and full flavoured, without being too heavy, this beer has a floral, citrus aroma, with its light, biscuity flavour balanced by a crisp bitterness.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, March 2015. Golden in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. My sparse notes on this beer only refer to a prominent sulphur edge, so the American influence must have been negligible.Thankfully a one-off beer.

Cask @ The Forty Foot, Dun Laoghaire JDW [010415]
Golden amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma of soft grain, some pear drops, slight acetone, dull
Taste of soft minerals, bit flinty, some earthy English hops, light fruits, odd yeast
Palate - Medium body, bit oily, soft sweet, bit sour. Finish has more minerals, soft bitter, pear drops
Overall - Poor for a US collab, not a fan of this

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head and a slight haze. Nose - light lemon. Earthy. Taste -more lemon, light grassiness. Slight medicinal note. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - a little disappointed considering it’s a brewing collaboration.
