A full-blown “West Coast” IPA chocked full of sticky hop resins. Melrose is brewed with American 2-row malt and a touch of Canadian “honey” malt to accentuate the tropical and citrusy flavors of the Simcoe and Amarillo hops. This beer is generously dry hopped for an over-the-top aromatic experience.

US Pint can from Benny’s Place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a slightly hazy light amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is grainy, light toffee. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, fresh, juicy citrus, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Billed as a Westie but not so bitter as I expected.

~14 oz IPA glass draft at Beachwood BBQ and Brewing in Long Beach, California. The pour is a copper golden with a well formed 1/2 inch off white head. The aroma is fresh resin, soft citrus, floral and a bit of a catty character. The taste is the fresh resin floral, earth then mineral towards the back. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a mineral resin finish. Nice.

18th Jan 2018, happy hour pint in Bar 1502, Ocean Beach, San Diego. Slight haze to my amber pour, off-white topping. Dank hops in the aroma, mini citrus and floral esters from the hops too. Taste is also hop centric, some fruit flavours, mostly citrus; light malty sweetness tries to burst through (but fails). Not a 'hop bomb', but not far off.

It pours a clear dark golden orange color with an off white head. The aroma is very dank and spicy with some toasted malt. Hints of circus peanuts. The flavor has toasted malt, a little grapefruit and lots of dank. Clean on the palate. Pretty good.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Mr Smith. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is airy, fairly dry and has decent carbonation. Light creamy malts, modest sweetness. Hops are orange and spicy pine with touches of orange peel and mango. Fairly bitter citric peel finish. Bitter linger. Nice IPA.

Bottle shared on Level 42, 09/06/2016. Huge thanks to Leighton for this one. . A mostly clear golden orange coloured pour with a a lasting sticky white head. Aroma is dry lemon hop, little plastic, hint of tropical fruits, pineapple. Palate is medium light, moderate carbonation, Some sticky hop resin. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tangy pine hop, Aggressive, hop bitterness. But pretty drinkable. Sticky and juicy. Solid.

Bottle at Level 42, big thanks to L K Smith, 09/06/16. Golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is dank hop strokes, grassy, tea leaves, light herbals, bitter orange, pine drool. Taste comprises pine, skunky hop, tangerine sharp, grapefruit, leafy bitter notes, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Solid dank hop jus.
