Draught at the Portland location, 5/17/15
Seems like everyone of their beers poured in perfect condition (light chill haziness at most), which is very impressive in the age of the cloudy IPA. This one was indeed bright, pale golden and with a small but firm white head.
Much like the Domestic, a blonde saison (grisette here) with very fruity American hops. It is neither drowned out of its Belgian qualities nor does too much bitterness/acidity build up. Pineapple, papaya, lime, lychee and a well-attenuated body that nonetheless still has a strong malt structure to it. Tart acids from the yeast (light) are still notable in the finish as the carbonation helps clear some of the hop flavors aside and allows for the soft honey and biscuit malt to deepen the complexity. Not a huge fan of American-hopped Belgians, but these guys are doing about as best as I can imagine with them.

On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Dorata viva, carica, torbida, schiuma abbondante e persistente. Naso importante, fruttata, con note citriche e pungenti, floreale, lieviti, spezie. In bocca è complessa e appagante, malto, pane, finale amaro, abbastanza secca e pulita. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Wow!

Bier Temple, Amsterdam. Keg. Very hazy gold beer, big fluffty white head. Wonderful nose of sherbetty candy fruits and pineapple cubes - lovely! Palate is airy and semi dry. Fine minerally carbonation. Light dry pale malts, Trace of grapefruit zest. Slightly bitter floralness. Mild spicy yeast and mild citrus. Finishes dry and bitter with bitter floral linger. If the taste had matched the nose this would have 4.5+!!

On tap @ Mikkeller. This is a hazy yellow straw colored one with a islandy lacing white top. Tart berries like white currants, white wine and woody tannins on the nose. Have to admit it smells lovely. Dry Really dry in the taste! No sweetness what so ever left here. There's dry wood, but it's in no way mouthdrying. Lively on the carbonation this and it has a light oily feeling in the mouth. More vinous touches towards the finish. Almost mineral dry all over. A fun experience! 04.05.2014
