A superb apple-crisp session beer. Hoppy throughout, with a lingering bitter end. First brewed in 1989 by our founding Head Brewer Ian Hornsey.

Citric lemony aroma. Dark blond colour. Sweet, light , fruity taste with touch of citrus hop bitterness. Bit stale and old tasting.

500ml bottle at home. Clear golden yellow pour, thin white head that doesn’t last. Aromas are toffee and metal, some floral hops. Taste is decently balanced, but finishes thin. OK.

Brown 500ml bottle: BBD end of Dec 14, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 3rd Nov 13. Golden body, with an orange hue: full off-white crown that produced some heavy lacing. Hops rule the nose and taste: grassy and spicy notes from the aroma with a crisp, tangy bitterness in the mouth. There is an undercurrent of maltiness, but the hops keep pushing it down again. OK in all aspects: not too hoppy for my delicate palate.
