A rich, dark & fruity old ale. To this day, it's an absolute travesty that we stopped making this as it's undoubtedly one of the best beers we ever made but, as people "only drink light beers and IPAs", very few people were willing to stock it. These same people will in the same breath glorify another, more well known, strong dark "peculiar" ale which, in our humble opinion, tastes mostly of disappointment and corporate philosophy. There truly aren't enough swear words in the English language.

Rocky light brown head stayed on a dark brown still body. Dark chocolate, malt & nutty aroma. Medium bodied, finely carbonated to the fore with smooth creamy back. Malt, chocolate, cocoa, faint coffee, nutty & lactose tastes. Simple & Effective - Good one!

18/7/2019. Bottle from Priest Town Brewing Bottle Shop, Preston. Pours dark ruby brown with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, hops, roasted malt, nut, bread, plummy fruits, toffee and molasses. Moderate sweetness with medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, sling oily texture, average carbonation. Nice one.

Bottle. Huge head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, notes of caramel, nuts and hops. Dry roasty finish. Carbonation a bit too high.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival, 17th & 18th February 2012 Dark brown with a few stray bubbles, smooth and with a fruitiness, there is a light tanginess and decent bitterness. I overlooked this beer a little over the weekend however it was quite decent. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
