Yes, this is what base lambic should taste like. Flat, the way it should be. Some sourness, but the brettyness is starting to shine. Some sweetness, plenty of wood, nicely lactic. Refreshing and super easy to drink.

Smakprov på Cantillon, 1 år gammal. Klar guldig, ingen kolsyra. Mjuk vinägerton, särskilt i doften, tillsammans med citrus, grape, citruszest, kumquats, äppelkarts och kärnbeska. Mjuk, oljig kropp.

Cask at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Orange coloured and very clear. Tiny white thin bubbly head that soon fades. Aroma is very sour, bit of lemon and lots of stinky funkiness. Lovely taste, sourness and almost vinous, maybe a bit of wood too, or was it my imagination. Touch of citrus. Very flat and soft in the mouth. Finish is mellow and fruity. Bruxellensis. 3 years old. Very intense aroma. Honey, grapefruit, lemon, wood. Oaky flavor. All what I found in the aroma comes back with the same complexity and intensity. No carbon, off course, totally flat. Close to perfection. Cask @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Tasted april 2011. Vinegar and oak in the aroma. Soda, loads of oak, lemon and honey in the flavor. Clear cellar notes. Very interesting lambic, not as good as the best I’ve tasted. But I leave the rating as it is.

0,15l from tap at Arrogant Sour Festival. 2 year old. dark yellow hazy color, no head. smells sulphuric, musty, rubbery, peppery, leathery. ok smell, bit heavy on the rubber. medium body, very light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of rubber, leathery, bit plastic, peppery, earthy, spices, some wood. finishes dry and medium sour with notes of leather, earthy notes and bit rubbery. not a big fan of this 5, 4, 5, 3, 11

On tap at Weekend der Spontane Gisting, Opstal, Belgium. Shared with lovely Anja. Hazy dirty golden, minimal head. Aroma is mostly fruity with no obvious acidity. Ripe apple, quince, some dried fruit, some honey, some spice, yeasty. Barnyard coming through. Flavour is tart and vinous, cardboardy. Not very subtle. Chlorophenols? Apple in the finish. Some astringency. Light acidic. Light body. Puckering. I'm not sure about this one to be honest.
