Captain’s Log: In the farthest reaches of the universe we experienced a phenomenon called Total Eclipse. A Total Eclipse can have different colors and encase you completely to block out all light from the universe. This eclipse came suddenly, turned everything blacker than black around us, then vanished into thin air a few moments later leaving only the memory behind.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - no BBE info, at Pikkulintu, 20150116) The beer poured black. Its head was quite large, rather solid and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, saltiness and liquorice. Palate was rather full bodied with quite high carbonation. Flavours were coffee, burnt malts, dark chocolate, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. Full flavoured and still balanced strong stout.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting January, 2015. Pours black with a small creamy head. Roast, oat, ashes and a glue like note. Fruity acidic. Some chocolate. Medium bodied.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel, licorice and hint of citrus. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long chocolate, coffee, licorice and bitter finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Keg at Borefts day1 26/09/2014. Bodegraven. Opaque black / dark brown coloured pour with nice medium tan head. Attractive beer. Aroma is wood, wood, charcoal, nu roast, some veg. Flavour is milk chocolate, light roast, lactose sugars, hint of spicy pepper. Bit harsh in the finish. Palate is smooth and full bodied, lowish carbonation. Some wood tanin and sherry.

Black with creamy, tan head. Strong coffee aroma, dark chocolate and licorice. Hints of fruity hops come through later on. Flavour has the same elements. Good, creamy mouthfeel with a somewhat fruity sweetness. Long, bitter and slightly rough finish.

[ As Rocket Total Eclipse ].Clear dark black brown color with a small to small average, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, roasted, coffee, strong coffee, sweet malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, dusty chocolate - cacao, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140926]
