Cask, half-pint, shared with Finn at The Gatekeeper (JDW). Filmy, tan-coloured head, spotty lacing, deep rosewood coloured body. Rather rich aromas of earthy, dark malts, hints of nuts, slightly roasted. Dark caramel flavours together with chocolate, earth and moments of dark fruits. Lightly roasted ending. Clean. Well made mild. (Cardiff 02.05.2017).

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A cola brown coloured pour with a lasting dirty beige head. Aroma is subtle brown bread, twiglets, tangy woodland berries, milky, hint of powdered choc. Flavour is composed of red berries, milky choc, woody berries toasted nuts. Palate is semi sweet, easy going, lowish carbonation. Tasty malty beverage.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A glossy reddish dark chestnut colour with a billowing cream head; fruity malt taste with a touch of chocolate; and a pleasantly toasty finish. A rather good mild.

Tried at the Lincoln beer festival 2015. Deep ruby brown with an off white head. Slight hoppy aroma, but a fruity and dark malt taste. Very nice.
