@the brewery-tap: Very deep amber coloured with a ruby sheen and a stable tanned head; moderate to solid fruity-toasty nose with a robust herbal-hoppy background; moderate to solid bitter flavour, subdued and well hidden sweetness still detectable, medium to full bodied; lingering dry bitter and roasty finish. A solid brew…

Bottle left over from the Pre Borefts Tasting in Den Haag. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is grassy Citra hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light nettle grass spice hop palate and a lingering bitter finish. The Citra dominates. No surprise there. A decent black IPA but not a classic.

330ml bottle. Opaque darkest brown colour with huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Aroma is oscillating between citrusy hoppy and dark malty, with notes of lemon, lemon yoghurt on one side, coffee, mocha and dark chocolate on the other, and a herbal mixture of peppercress and green onions as hardly dividable encounter of both sides. Taste carries the same notes in a more compact, integrated and harmonic way, subtle malt sweetness, a cautious touch of orange (reminds of "Erfrischungsstäbchen"). Really nice, flawless, lacks only some body and deepness to be on a par with the absolute top class of the style.
