Sample @ 6de Gents Bierfestival 2015.

(Thx! for sharing) Sampled draft@ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Hazy deep red amber, solid white head. Nose is odd, weird wild herbs, candy, herbal, leaves & chewing gum. Taste is odd sweet herbal, lavender, soap, very odd honey, dough, plastic,… Body is dough & lavender. Very odd but necessarily off-putting.

Draught Very huge, lacy cream-coloured head over fully hazy red-amber beer. Nice citrus nose, but strangely mixed with a garlicky-meaty aroma (and NO, I did not have lamb, yesterday evening), earthy and cheesy. Cheesy hops dominating the flavour, with flavours of orange and grapefruit. Medium bodied, slick, oily. Not bad - at all!

Bottle from Burg Bieren, large sample. Slight hazy copper color, medium off-white frothy head. Aroma of grapefruity hop, some pine, bit citrus, definitely red beat, slight funky note, bit caramel and burned malt. Taste is quite bitter, pine, fruity as well, slight sourish. It reminded me a bit of Brett, but it could be the combination of ingredients that causes this. Quite high on bitterness, but I enjoyed it.

Bottle from ABC Beers. Clear a bit rusty orange amber color, medium sized creamy off-white head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, hops, very fruity, oranges, peach and citrus. Taste malts, hops, again pretty fruity, bitter, lightly some orangepeel bitterness. Lingering bitter finish. Average to medium body, medium carbonation. Pretty nice amber ale if you ask me.

Bottle 330ml (AIH40)
Deep ruby color, beige head. Aroma has berries and strong fruityness. Light-bodied. Dry yeasty front, then berries. Crystal malty but hops are gone somewhere.
