Poured from can dated 11/8/17 thought can was nitro but had a tied spice bag inside black with a cocoa head. Aromas is coffee vanilla roasty chocolate. Taste is rich creamy vanilla coffee chocolate light chili in the finish. ABV is hidden chilies are hidden creamy decadent mouth feel. Wow.

Jet black and oily with quick fading head. Aroma is strong with sweetened coffee and vanilla. In the flavour the cocoa comes through and there's a light him of chilli in the background. Really rich and smooth.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, Taste follows nose with some licorice, wood and spice. Excellent.

16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 10/9/2017. Pours dense pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky dark tan head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, chile pepper, molasses, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, raisin, cherry, licorice, anise, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and chile pepper notes; with great strength. Taste of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, chile pepper, molasses, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, raisin, cherry, licorice, anise, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light roast/char bitterness and pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, chile pepper, molasses, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, dark fruit, licorice, anise, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and chile pepper flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from roast/char bitterness and pepper spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 13%. Minimal pepper heat builds through the glass. Overall this is an amazing spiced imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and chile pepper flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Really outstanding balance of all flavors, nothing is overdone. Rich and well rounded imperial stout complexity. Compared to the BBA version, this one is a little more charred/drying and not quite as thick as I hoped; but still a highly enjoyable offering.
