Moments after the demise of the DiatamaticHopzilla, our heroes tap the bitter mystery fuelling its fury.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with good white head. Very hoppy pine aroma. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste is very hoppy from start to finish. There’s some good bitterness and some caramel malt makes its way through the hops. Bold, well balanced, and very drinkable.

At first testing a seriously good beer. But so it should be at 9.1.

375ml can at Paus Craft Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, zesty citrus, weedy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet, with a crisp, malty, light boozy, juicy citrus, big alcoholic woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Big fruity and boozy. Hits you in the face and not exactly balanced. Need to sit down after drinking this. Oh, I already am. 9.1% ... what’s happening to me!

Hazy golden beer, thin head. Aroma is tropical fruit and hop. Flavour is quite American IPA with lots of hop and tropical fruit. Fresh, bitter and a lasting flavour. This is very nice.

375ml can. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Intense, tropical fruity and piney, hoppy aroma, notes of pineapple, marmalade, orange, grapefruit, caramel malty background. Taste is dry and bitter, citrusy, piney and tropical fruity hoppy, a lemon basic layer, pine, pineapple and orange zest on top, slightly papery overtones, caramel malty basis with a peanut touch can hardly keep with the hop bitterness and appears almost to be a bit watery; total collaps of the malty backbone in the finish, a chalky and mineral impression remains.

375ml can into shaker. Bronze coloured beer with a two-finger foamy head. Light carbonation. Nose is alcoholic with overripe fruit. Full body. Bitter, earthy taste. Finish is bitter with alcohol heat. There's hints of liquorice, mint, marijuana and dank hops but you really know this is 9.1% It's a heady brew!
