On tap at Man in the Moon. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, some chocolate and coffee. The same in the taste. The body was medium. Quite smooth and easy to drink.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 10 March 2018) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, liquorice and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Really tasty and well made porter. Very nice.

From a mundane brown and beige label can is this big foaming porter. Slight metallic porter nose. Yes, Its dark like a porter but its one inch of beer and 6" of foam, alabaster foammah. Try to control this, will yah? So big and burnt is the flavor. Yes, almost comes across like an export stout or more likely a baltic porter, heheh. Do they make baltic stouts? This could be one, HAH. Not thick, but big in roasted flavors, nearly burnt up old damp campfire wood. Not bad, but it does have a little more medical alky effects and tendencies than I care for on the finish, especially for a 5% er. Enjoyable, nun the less.

Sample at the Columbus taproom during the "Beverage Source Tap Takeover" on 02/24/2017. Dark brown color with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Light to medium body with a smokey malt character and notes of coffee and chocolate in the background. The finish is charred malt and chocolate. Above average overall.

12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours clear nearly opaque very dark brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that linger. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, fudge, toffee, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, coffee, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, floral, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, fudge, toffee, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, coffee, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, floral, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, fudge, toffee, toasted brown bread, light nuttiness/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slight dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness; lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.25%. Overall this is a very nice American porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Great malt complexity and smooth roasted character; with just enough hops to balance the sweetness. Great example of the style. A very enjoyable offering.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a huge fluffy tan head that lingered forever and left excellent lacing. The aroma was dry, bitter and roasty with a coffee presence. The flavor was bitter and roasty with notes of wood, coffee and cocoa. Long finish of roasty malt and coffee. Medium body.

12oz can, marked at 6%, pours a translucent brown with ruby edges and some cloudy tan head. Nose has malt, bread, yeast, some soil, some chocolate. Flavor is straight forward, toast, yeast, mild chocolate, a little brown sugar. Dry finish. A straight up porter.
