On tap at the brewpub. Clear, deep copper beer with a minimal beige head. Toffee, borderline butterscotch, aroma with some fruityness. Toffeeish flavor as well, also here with some fruityness, and there’s also some bitterness and a roasted note. Decent bitterness in the finish. Medium body. I’ll have Newcastle Brown Ale instead of this one any day. Having tasted most of the brewerys beer, it’s evident that they do not aim at the conoisseur market, as theire beers are very boring. 100ml draught at the brewpub. Nice rusty-brown body. Missing head. Brittle caramel to the nose. Sharp dark caramel taste that ends up in a rather anonymous drink with a thin and watery mouthfeel (Copenhagen, 02.08.2007).

Sample from tap at the brewpub. Pours brown with an amber hue, little lacework. Sweet light caramel malty and hoppy floral aroma. Strong caramel malt and aroma hops mixed flavour. Decent bitterness in the finish with a lasting caramel malt note. Last of the samples, again decent and better than expected. They surely lack creativity, these are all standard lagers and ales, but they are solid from what I tasted - this may not be the case every time I guess. It seems they have problems producing the same beer in a consistent manor when looking at the prior ratings to mine, scores go up and down.

Tap, Vesterbro Bryghus. Cloudy brown color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma is caramel malty, spicy, nutty, anis. Nutsweet taste, anis, some toffee, caramel malt again, not really bitter. Sitcky palate. I didn’t think it was that bad.

(On tap) Hazy, dark brown with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. A vague whiff of butter in the nose together with some roasted malt. Medium body, some caramel and then rather burned, malty accents. Quite a bitter finish. Drinkable, but not exactly a refined brew. 140407
