Tap at the English Pub, cos Streckers hadn’t opened yet, 28/02/14. Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a moderate off white meets beige head. Nose is toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, fruit tinges. Taste comprises vanilla, toffee apple, caramel, brown sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Pretty basic but easy drinking stuff.

Draught @ Streckers, Copenhagen. Slightly unclear reddish color, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, caramel, very buttery, slightly bitter. Average body and carbonation. Don’t really like it.

Reddish amber brown, much stronger caramel/toffee aroma than the amber lager. The taste is a too sweet burnt caramel candy taste. Cloying & artificial seeming. It is like a turbo charged version of their amber but unfortunately not in a good way.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours slightly hay amber wi small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt with notes of caramel. Bitter, hoppy taste, with subtle notes of caramel and grain. Too watery. Nothing to write home about.

Tap at Vesterbro Bryghus, Copenhagen. Pours red-brown with a fine, filmy cream head. Nose holds some caramel, sweet berries, dark sugars. Medium sweet flavor with a kind of nice, ripe berry character; it’s not the dusty malt-cocoa brown ale to which I am accustomed. A bit of caramel sweetness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Actually dries out a touch to finish, with more toasty malts, ripe semi-dark fruits, light dry caramel. Very, very one-dimensional, but nice enough. It does have the faintest hints of cocoa.
