A co-creation brew with the UK band Editors. Magnum hop, bitter chocolate, bergamot lemon.
Our collaboration brew with the British Indie rockers Editors! We had an awesome time with them talking about their music, our work at Beer Project, listening to their tunes while tasting our brews ...
Great humble band who shared much with us and came multiple times to the brewery to fine tune this Salvation - an earl grey infused porter - that matches their song.

Bottle from Tanakaya. This one goes out to the people of Belgium, stay strong. Brussels Beer Project Salvation 5.3% This is a Earl Grey Dark Ale made with Bergamot.it pours a cola black with a slim beige head. The aroma is chocolate, citrus and a herbal character I’m guessing is the bergamot. Medium bodied with a raspy carbonation and dry finish. The taste is chocolate paste, orange and a tea like bitterness that gives a herbal edge to the aftertaste. Interesting stuff that improves as it warms with stronger fruitiness and more roastiness.

Fra flaske på Cardinal, Mi2 mars-16: brunsvart med beige skum. Aroma og smak av gammel Earl Grey, litt sjokolade og ristet brød. Mer som en tørr porter enn en stout, synes jeg. Overbeviser ikke.

At Gollem in Antwerp. This is the one honoring indie rock band Editors, apparently. Thick, creamy, egg-white, lacing head, very dark burgundy colour, blackish but still more or less translucent with ruby hue. Aroma of bare iron, nut shells, dry leaves, fig, nutmeg, leather, port wine, toasted bread, cherry pits, hint coffee grounds but I cannot say I get anything even remotely bergamot lemon-like in the given tasting circumstances. Soft, restrained sweetishness of dried fruits with a biltong-like umami touch, medium carbonized; slick caramelly malt sweetness sets in but are instantly halted by a much more dry, nutty and very toasted bitterishness, which persists till the very end without achieving the black chocolate- or coffee grounds-like ’mouthfillingness’ I expect from even an ’ordinary’ dry stout; something metallic is there too and the body ends rather thin, though supported by some leafy and peppery hop bitterishness in the end. Expected more from this, I guess.

Almost opaque dark amber - red beer, small pale tan head. Thin dark malts, mildly tangy. A mid Bergamot lemony citrus tang blends in fairly well. Light semi dry finish. Interesting experiment but somewhat lightweight, a bigger beer would have worked better I think.

Nearly black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of roast malts and bergamot, hints of mild coffee and chocolate.
