33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A glossy almost black pour with a cherry red glint and a thin beige head; some black tea on the aroma, more in the taste, but also a smooth milky stout body with some well roasted grains and a touch of chocolate; then some orange in the finish. Nicely done.

22/01/2016 @home - 33cl bottle from Malt Attacks, Brussels. Black with huge foamy head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate, some spices. Taste is roasted malts & chocolate again, light spices herbal, bitter roasted ending.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with a small head. Bergamot and some slightly musty notes in the aroma. Slightly sweet taste with bergamot and some roasted notes standing out.

330 ml bottle from Firma Bier.
Dark brown body, with a quite small, creamy, a bit fizzy, dark beige head.
Aroma of spices, roast, dark chocolate, dark fruits, herbs, some pepper, some sweetness.
Tastes of roast, bitter chocolate, spices, liquorice, wood, some coffee, pepper, herbs, bitter hops.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes roasty-bitter, dry, with liquorice, wood, spices, some herbs, some coffee, slight chocolate.
Good, although a bit weird. The spicy/herbal notes are a bit too dominant for me. Although pretty roasty and dark, it doesn’t feel much like a Stout, which isn’t the brewers fault though, as the labelling on the bottle ("Earl Grey Dark Ale") is more fitting. Overall quite interesting stuff, even though not very round. As an Editors fan I had to try this anyway. ;-)

From bottle. Pours dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of caramel, malt, overripe dark fruit, light chocolate and toffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Dark beige-brown head, fast gone over reddish dark-brown beer. Spicy nose with dark malts & melanoidins, quite roasted. Roasted, bitterish. The roastiness completely masks any Earl Grey or Bergamotte, and as a regular E.G. drinker, I ought to know. There is a backthroat warmth, reminiscent of chili. Feels quite carbonated. Medium bodied, quite slick Long roasted aftertaste, lightened by the CO². Missed opportunity, IMHO.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. A bit hazy brownish color with a red to red-brown haze coming through when held into the light, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma is a bit faint, only dark malts, don’t really get anything else. Too cold perhaps? Taste malts, dark malts, a hint of chocolate, a solid bitterness and lightly roast. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Pretty nice.
