50cl at The Ox in Edinburgh. Pours a lightly hazy yellow with some creamy white head. Nose has yeast and lemon and mild soap, some light metallic characer too. Flavor has some corn and malt, yeast and dough, lemon. Finishes creamy

Keg at West. It pours clear pale gold with a small white head. The nose is fresh, doughy, white bread, grass and cream. The taste is crisp, creamy, white bread, grass, toasty grain and straw with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent lager. Clean and readily consumable.

Its a really basic lager and, to be honest well below West’s usual standard. It’s fairly tasty, hoppy and crisp in the mouth but ends up a bit sickly after a few. Nice enough but unremarkable.

Keg at Topolabamba. Possibly an alias for WEST 4? Straw coloured with a frothy white head. Slightly citrusy lager that was a very good match for the Mexican food it was drunk alongside

Keg as West 4 at Platform 5! Pours clear pale gild, thick white head. Cooked corn nose, grassy. Taste is light cereal, sweet lemon. Clean finish. Ok.

Keg at West Brewery. Clear golden body with no head, carbonation or lacing. Light fruity aroma with a faint yeasty note. Subtle grapefruit flavour - nicer than St Mungo (the filtered version of this). Thin body with an oily texture. Nice fizz. Decent, but I remember it being more cloudy/unfiltered/tasty last time I tried it.

On tap @ Teuchters, Edinburgh. Pours golden with steady carbonation and some head, some of which hangs around. The nose is distinctly citrus against a gentle pale malt background. The citrus is confirmed on the taste and in fact, we’re talking sweet citrus, almost lemonade. Again there is a gently malt profile. The palate is light to medium in body with a long tangy middle and finish. Overall, a very good effort.

Half from keg at the West brewpub. Pale golden body. Faint white head, lacing the glassware. Aroma of dry fruity hops and pale malts. Flavoured with sweet noble hops and pale malts. Dry aftertaste. Clean tasting and foamy in the mouth. Mild oily palate. Refreshing. Above par for the style (Glasgow, 13.04.2012).
