This pale-straw coloured beer delivers complete satisfaction. The robust, international flavours of Chinook and Sorachi Ace hops combine with Maris Otter and the body-builder Cara-Pils malts to form a smooth and complex drinking experience. With refreshment levels going through the roof, this beer can be enjoyed at all times of the day (although before breakfast may be pushing it a little).

Cask at Borough Arms, Crewe. Pours golden yellow with a small off=white head and good lacing. There’s malts and biscuits in the nose plus hints of oranges. In the mouth there is a brief burst of sweetness to start with before it quickly becomes quite bitter, whilst remaining juicy. Flavour has floral hops and oranges, and later on some traces of generic citrus. Finish is quite bitter and slightly dry. This isn’t a worlds beater, but it is reasonable.

Many thanks to Mark. Smooth golden bitterness, easy to drink. Lots of dry maltiness, grainy straw. Dry bitter in the aftertaste, grainy dry in the end.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Clear golden-amber with a white head. Floral up front, then caramel and orange with a slightly chalky mouthfeel. The flavours are a bit insipid which means that the mild bitterness comes across as harsh and unbalanced in comparison. Not great.

31/5/2019. Cask at the Cherry Tree Inn Beer Festival, Woodbridge. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of hops, malt, bread, caramel and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Light biscuity finish with nice bitterness developing. Grower.

Cask at Jolly Farmer, Bramley. A feint yeasty aroma. Hazy pale golden. A fluffy but patchy white head. Mild bitterness. Medium bodied, with a soft mouthfeel. Dry finish. Hops have been waived over it, but there’s not really much to it. Bland.
