The Governator Ale is a craft-brewed ESB (extra special bitter) styled after England's finest "session" beers. The ale is easy-drinking,
well-hopped and a bit stronger in alcohol than most craft beers. The Governator will only be available in California through the end of spring 2004.

Bottled. Clear amber, small head. Lychee aroma. Sweet and light bodied with clean, soapy mouthfeel. Some biscuity malot is there. Despite what the label makes you think this beer shoots for balance, and does a decent job at it.

"Crush your enemy - see them driven before you... and to hear the lamentation of their women" about sums this beer up. In this case it is lamenting the fact that this is a lot of beer to drink when you aren’t really enjoying it. Dark clear amber with a medium off-white head. Little to no lacing. The aroma is actually well-hopped and spicy. Medium-bodied and somewhat smooth with an off balance of hops, caramel and plastic. The finish is rather bitter and lingering. I can’t really call this a letdown because it was about what I was expecting. So unless Arnold himself tells me to "Get to the Choppah!" to drink another, I will NOT be back.

I didn’t think this really fit well with some of the better ESBs I’ve had. Medium amber in appearance, OK head- but nothing special. Kind of a plain, hoppy aroma. Taste is very average and kinda watery. Very average altogether.

Whatever the hell this is, I thought it was great. VERY spicy, tons of fresh hops in there, big almost full body and just incredibly bitter (though not citric). Malt presence is not really tasted, but provides body. Stiff carbonation, unimpressive dull, clear yellow color, white head. Flavorful and well-made, but maybe a bit too one-dimensional with all the hop bitterness. Aroma is highly floral, lightly fruity and altogether, quite full.

Bottle. Amber colord beer with a head that fades fast. Malty, citrus (orange) aroma that blends nicely. Citrus hop flavor (too much), and a little backing of sweetness. Clean finish, a little too carbonated. Definately the thing going for it is the label

A bitter, eh? I couldn't pin this style down. Poured with a grassy somewhat spicy "wet straw" aroma. Body is clear and straw-colored with a thin/medium off-white head. Flavor was grainy and cerealy with pine and citrus hops. Theis beer was rather thin-bodied and had a strange rough biting sensation on the tongue. Next...
