After 9 months in Breckenridge Bourbon barrels, Imperial Coffee & Cigs has emerged transformed. The aging process has created a fudgy & bourbon laced porter ripe with aromas of dried currant, raisin, dark cacao, light smoke & a vanilla & coconut wood character from the oak. After aging, it was further conditioned on Sightglass Papa New Guinea Lufa District coffee. 2016 Release.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is rich with lots of dark chocolate and nice coffee notes. Light roast notes with lighter oak. Light bourbon as well. Coffee has a nice nuttiness to it. Pours an oily black with a small, thin, dark mocha head that lingers for a bit on the edges. Moderate legs and no lacing. Flavor is moderately sweet with a lot of dark chocolate notes. Lots of coffee notes with with a light nuttiness. Moderate bitterness. Light roast and smoke notes. A touch of ash. Lingering chocolate and coffee. Light oak and bourbon notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a very delicious version of this beer. Nice chocolate and coffee notes with some light bourbon. Really nice.
