After 9 months in Breckenridge Bourbon barrels, Imperial Coffee & Cigs has emerged transformed. The aging process has created a fudgy & bourbon laced porter ripe with aromas of dried currant, raisin, dark cacao, light smoke & a vanilla & coconut wood character from the oak. After aging, it was further conditioned on Sightglass Papa New Guinea Lufa District coffee. 2016 Release.

Backlog. Tap. Pours opaque black, small tan head, some lacing. Aroma is mocha, tobacco, bourbon, earthy, light vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, heavy espresso. Full body. Coffee overwhelming after a while 4,8,8,5,15

The beer is black with a small brown head. Small amount of lacing. The aroma is chocolate, vanilla, light roast, light smoke, some oak. Taste is sweet with lots of fudgey chocolate. Barrel is still pretty light. Pretty big on vanilla. Some marshmallow. Full, round mouthfeel. Good stuff.

[1/27/16] Draught at Cellarmaker in San Francisco. Black. Great aroma full of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and light smoke. Sweet flavor full of bourbon chocolate, vanilla, coffee, a bit of coconut, a smoky hint, and a bit of alcohol. Full-bodied. Great stuff.

Tap at the Brewpub. Black, flat. Nose is coffee, vanilla, bourbon. Smooth bourbon flavor, chocolate, coffee, light smoke only. Silky, oily palate. Great balance. Smooth and lovely.

Keg at Cellarmaker, 28/01/16. Black with a small tan covering. Nose is big on coffee grinds, chocolate, dark malts, fruit cake. Taste comprises brown sugar, coffee cake, molasses, subtle barrel, chocolate. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light warming alcohol and subtle bourbon. Solid enough impy.

Draft - Coffee and chocolate and vanilla with some leather. Jet black with a dark brown head. Lots of Woody sweet barrel notes. Dark chocolate and some vanilla with a touch of coconut. Very nice.

On tap at cellarmaker San Francisco. pours out black topped with a tan ring of a head. nose is great lots of heavy molasses roast malts chocolate lots of bourbon barrel vanilla. Taste is amazing coffee bourbon barrel vanilla brown sugar molasses. Very nice

Draught at Cellarmaker. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of vanilla, light smoke, toffee, raw sugar, coffee, light chocolate and licorice. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of chocolate, coffee, light smoke, vanilla and raw sugar. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Awesome.

On tap at Cellarmaker. Opaque jet black coloured pour with a lasting loose dark tan head. Aroma is insanely good, pungent vanilla, oak, smooth roast coffee, nice toasted coconut, cocoa, creme caramel. Flavour is composed of initially, sweet creme caramel, then ashy roast coffee, boozy Bourbon, little solvent. Palate is medium full, solvent, hot, moderate carbonation, semi sweet. Very impressed with this. Particularly the aroma .
