SoMa Vice is a Berliner Weisse fermented with pureed kiwi and conditioned on the zest of cara cara oranges for 1 week. The aroma hits first with a tropical kiwi aroma and then settles in to the cara cara. A sip reveals a clean acidity followed but citrus, juicy kiwi and a nuttiness from the pilsner, wheat and spelt malts. It's your new Cellarmaker vice.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours unclear yellow with a foamy, white head. The aroma holds tangy lemon, light puke hay. Light sweet flavour with notes of buttered popcorn, cereal, dough. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly piney in the finish, with some melon, tangy lemon. Eh, so so, seems like it might not be at its best.

Keg at Cellarmaker, 28/01/16. Hazed yellow golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pissy lemon, straw, light funk, spice, green berry must. Taste comprises on the turn melon, citric tinged straw, damp cloth, light balsa wood, green berry zap, tangerine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light rising acidic whisper and some green berry funk. Ok linner but fails to quench me like others of this ilk.

On draft at Caps & Taps. It pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma has mostly the cara cara oranges. Not picking up much kiwi. Smells nicely juicy and tart though. The flavor definitely has more kiwi mixed with sweet/tart orange. Very juicy and mouthwatering. Tart, but not overly sour. Citric, fruity tartness. Wow. Fruit juice for days. Very light and frothy in the mouth. The finish has some noticeable wheat bread. Awesome.

The beer is a tan yellow color, quite pale. It’s completely clouded over to opacity. The aroma is yogurty with delicate tropical and citrus flavors. The orange is juicy and sweet. The kiwi is milder but adds a very nice delicate complexity. Light, fresh malt underneath everything. The taste is moderately sour. Nice lacto sourness. Big on the orange peel. Juicy juice fruitiness. More of that kiwi sweetness. Light and super refreshing. Easy to put away. Light pucker. I hope that they make more Berliners because this one is a success.
