A fusion of a Belgium witbier and an American IPA. Our White IPA gives the traditional wheat beer a bit more punch through the moderate smooth bitterness. The citrus and pine tones come from the various additions of Waimea and Wakatu hops. We use 60% wheat malt and kept the ABV down more toward a session beer which gives it a light crisp body that is tart and fresh. The name comes from Aotearoa – “the land of the long white cloud”, Maori for New Zealand. Let is be a long lingering hoppy love!

(Draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 3 Oct 2015) Hazy yellow colour with lasting, frothy, white head. Malty, wheaty nose with bread, citrus and grass. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of bread, grass, citrus and a fairly dry finish with a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty wheat IPA with a fresh hop character. Quite nice.

The high carbonation level was the most disturbing wit this one. Fizzy and a bit unbalanced.
Hazy pale golden color with a fine white head. Ok lacing. Herbal, wheat, citric and something that reminds me of coriander in the aroma. Ok intensity. Medium body and a bit to lively carbonated. Semi dry texture. Herbal/grassy, wheat, some yeast and mild citric flavor.

Sample at SBWF 2015. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma and taste of citrus, light bread and some plastic. The body was light as was the bitterness. Nothing to write home about.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma is citrus, mild acidic wood, some floral and nectary notes. Flavour is fruity, some grains, mild rubbery notes as well as some sweet maltiness to it.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Cloudy golden, mid sized head. Light peachy citrusy hops up front. Mid sweet with light-medium body and clean mouthfeel. Mild peach, some wheat bread, slight notes of plastic. Mid bitter finish. OK-ish.

Bottle. Hazy orange liquid with small white head. Aroma of citrus, mango, fruity yeast esters, light earth, grain, light white pepper and lemon peel. Taste is very light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of citrus, mango and light grain. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Bit under carbonated, but the hop profile is really good.
