Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a dense, white head. Interesting spicy aroma. Medium body, sweet fruitiness, honeyish and spicy. Quite interesting. But marmalade - really? 290115

(Bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 15 2014) Pours lightly hazy pale orange. Aroma has a nice edge of that marmalade and good hops as well, touches of pit fruit and floral, lightly dank notes. A little bit of earthy barnyard from the yeast. Flavour follows the nose at first with nice orange zest and flesh, light peach, and some hay and light earth. Kind of dies though. Watery in the finish, lightly mineral and bitter but sort of nothing, especially in the aftertaste. Light bodied, high carb. The nose on this beer was quite nice and used the orange peel well, and the initial flavour quite good too. Needed to be much more robust in the finish and have a bit more body, this brewery’s beers seem to end up on the watery side in my experience so far.

Bottle. Almost clear golden liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, mango, white pepper, light grain, light clove and light perfume. Taste is dry and light bitter with notes of orange, white pepper and light grain. Light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Really nice, the orange peel is a nice addition.

Draught @ Ölrepubliken. Pours hazy vibrant yellow with a huge frothy and fluffy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is slightly phenolic, slightly fruity and tiny spicy with crackers, hay, dry soil, orange peal, lemon peal, white pepper corns, pear skins and hints of sheet metal. Taste is very tiny sour, tiny bitter and slightly phenolic with crackers, hay, dry soil, minerals, citrus hard candy, pear skins, orange zest, lemon zest and hints of maramalade and alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is tiny bitter and slightly phenolic with crackers, marmalade, hay, dry soil, minerals, pear skins, lemon zest and hints of sheet metal and alcohol. Decent but strangely sweet and not close to dry enough for what I’d like to see in a saison.

330 ml bottle, batch NO.01, BB 17.JUL.2015.Sampled on August 22, 2014.Fairly big hiss when the bottle opens, builds up a huge amount of head, can’t fit more than just over half the bottle in a nonic pint glass. Once the head settled and the beer had formed I started my rating.Hazy golden to copper color with hints fo amber in it as well. Big, lasting, fluffy off-white to cream colored head that leaves small traces of lace on the glass. Fresh, spicy, alcohol, citrus, fruity apricot scent. Yeasty, alcohol, wheat dough, citrus, grass, flower stems, hoppy, light bitter taste. Some wheat dough aftertaste, as some know I hate that, but this is not enough to throw me off balance and dump this beer, it actually works still. Also in the aftertaste, long after swallowing, some bitter dandelion stems, mixed with orange peel. After a bit a gut punch of heating alcohol driving in like an ice pick. Medium mouthfeel, sort of low CO2, most likely blew off building up that head for starters. Medium to medium low bitterness.Perhaps a bit much pith bitterness, perhaps a bit too evident alcohol, but in all still well balanced and nice. I wouldn’t mind drinking it again.
