Draught @ All In Beer Fest 2014. Pours black with a small mocha head that leaves a small spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, vanilla fudge, red chili, coconut milk, chocolate, coffee, soil and alcohol. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and malty with roasted malts, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, chocolate, coffee, red chili, soil and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, slightly sticky sweet, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, charred wood, chocolate, coffee and soil. Not sure if the base is their project 002 IS but if it is it’s all hidden in the barrels chili, vanilla and coconut notes now…

Jet black beer with a small beige/brownish head. Roasted aroma with chocolate, coffee, wood and vanilla. Heavy taste of whiskey with peat, pear, chocolate and wood.

Draught at All In Beer Fest 2014. Opaque black liquid with a medium light tan head. Aroma of green apples, chocolate, coffee, wood, licorice and vanilla. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of apples, wood and chocolate. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Lots of acetaldehyde. Brewers told the guy next to me to look past the green apple notes, but I have a hard time doing it as it’s super prevalent and quite an unprofessional off flavour in this amount.
