Brewed with 10 different malts, including oats, with additions of honey, molasses and fresh coffee beans. This is a deliciously rich, complex and intense dark beer that has been held back in the brewery for 6 months to ensure it's ready for release.

No head but rusty rim; undercarbonated deep black-brown beer. Sweet, wood, dark green leaves, alcohol, rainwater, liquorice and light roast, Madeira. Wry, bitter-ish wood, leafy, roast and some ashes. Faintly mineral too. Warming up, a faint sweetness creeps in, as from dried fruit: figs, prunes. Very low carbonation, slick, some alcoholwarming. Certainly not bad, if a bit "easy" for an Imperial Stout. Mouthfeel and body are lacking - but that makes it easily drinkable too. Thanks, Jezza!

Void black. Massive tan head. Aroma is very - um - un-impy-like. Smoky malt with basil and mint notes. Some caramel and (oddly) bubblegum. Sweet taste with some medicinal hop in the background. Long astringent finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Liquorice and caramel in the aftertaste. An odd duck and not the best impy. Bags of character though.

66cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a tall espresso head with decent retention. Notes of roasted malts, smoke, roasted coffee, licorice, dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses. Smooth texture, medium to full body, medium carbonation and a roasty bitter finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sadako on 15 Aug 2016 at 19:00 - Score: 8. On tap at BrewDog Clerkenwell. black beer lasting tan head. Thick impy stout aroma. Some light soy sauce. Chocolatesome coffee but light some soy sauce but light. OK. Not bland exactly . Just distinctly competent. It’s fine. No obvious abv. But it warms the cockles. Ticks a lot of boxes without moving too much into the excitement realm. OK though thick in mouth good dark chocolate.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a dark brown colour with a frothy tan head. The aroma is rich sweet malt, molasses, dark chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet with a big, oily, roasted sweet malt, light alcohol palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
