Brewed with 10 different malts, including oats, with additions of honey, molasses and fresh coffee beans. This is a deliciously rich, complex and intense dark beer that has been held back in the brewery for 6 months to ensure it's ready for release.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pitch black pour with a struggling to develop dark tan head, molasses and rich roast malt aroma, taste is very rich and complex, dark fruits, plain chocolate, roast malts, gloriously slick mouthfeel, hint of bitterness, impressive stuff.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, some coffee. Very nice, complex Imperial stout.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Yep. Lovely, dark malts. Coffee bean. Light cocoa. Sweet, fruit loaf taste. Too much BIPA bitterness. Just a bit lacking in balance. But bring on the aged stuff, and I can imagine good things.

First rating33 cl bottle thanks to Nisse666! From Kris Wines. Sampled on July 25, 2014.Batch 0055, Bottled on March -13, BB March -19.Black color, dark brown head. Sweet, some alcohol, dark fruits, light roasted, well balanced scent. Salty, alcohol, berries, roasted taste. Salty, bitter, roasted aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Full mouthfeel, medium bitterness. A bit too dry, salty, roasted to enjoy a lot of, not highly drinkable for me. OK for sipping when sharing a bottle.7/4/7/4/12=3.4RerateAt Villagio Della Birra 2015.Black color, brown head. Draft at BD Shep Bush - London. Pours rich brown with a frothy, beige head. The nose has strong roasted malts, dry chocolate. Medium sweet with decent alcohol punch, dirt, burnt wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation and oily texture. Finishes fairly warm with lots of charred wood and baking cocoa. Tasty and nicely balanced, if a bit one-dimensional. Nice.

Keg at BD Sheps B. It pours opaque black with a small tan head. The nose is rich, roasty, salted liquorice, dark chocolate, rocky road, charcoal and coffee. The taste is bitter, hard roast, coffee, cocoa, pine, varnish, charred wood, ash with a dry, roasty. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Punchy and bitter. Really rather drinkable.

MTB at Brewdog, Shepherd Bush. Keg. Opaque dark black - brown beer. Residual pale tan head. Palate is airy and light. Very modest carbonation. Smooth and mild dark malts, very light. Touches of roast and dark chocolate. Whispers of molasses and bourbon biscuit. Little dry licorice before the smooth dry finish. Not bad.
