Brewed with 10 different malts, including oats, with additions of honey, molasses and fresh coffee beans. This is a deliciously rich, complex and intense dark beer that has been held back in the brewery for 6 months to ensure it's ready for release.

Dark brown color. Medium brown head. Big molasses, honey, dark fruit nose, but lacking roastiness I like. Medium smooth body with more roasted character, Vegemite, honey and molasses. Low bitterness. Very enjoyable, but would like more bitterness.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Black body with a thick tan head. Lots of sticky lacing. Aroma of honey, cocoa powder and coffee. Flavour of coffee, earth, tobacco, liquorice and dark chocolate. Dry finish. Thick body with a smooth, oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A gorgeous beer - thick and full flavoured with barely a hint of the ABV. Weird Beard can do it all but I would say they specialise in dark beers.

Bottle thanks to nihtala. Appearance - opaque black with a fawn head. Nose - tar, leather and charcoal, smells like 19th century Britain. Lovely chocolate underlay. Taste - big sour red fruits, dry smoke, lovely. Palate - medium bodied with a big smoky texture and such a long dry finish. Overall - lovely beer.

On tap at Weird Beard Tap Takeover, Bottle Shop, Bermondsey, Saturday 7th February 2015 Pours black with a really creamy beige head. Leather and tobacco on the nose with a little bit of stock cube noted. In the mouth this is a little bit meaty but with a surprisingly lengthy bitterness, quite soft mouthfeel, hoppy finish it’s a good assertive impy stout. A8 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle from Theatre of Wine, Greenwich. Black pour with a tan head. Aromas of soy sauce, marmite, licorice and dark chocolate. Warming flavours of dark chocolate, licorice toffee and coffee. Good complexity .Very good hoary brew for those cold winter’s nights.
