33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours elegant brown, with fine whitish foam. Aroma is intensely malty, caramel, molasses, dry fruits, plus clearly an alcoholic feeling given by the whisky component. Body is actually on the thin side, with intense carbonation, but with quite a stickiness. Taste is intensely sweet, but also nicely spiced. Final is long and warm.

0,33l bottle from Hoptimaal online store. BBE 17.08.2025. Clear red brown beer with nice and stable head. Aroma has whisky, malts, caramel, some fruits, raisins and wood. Flavor has sweet caramel malts, whisky, dried fruits, raisins. Quite heavy, but in very good balance. Sweet, but not too sweet. Whicky, but not too much and no booze at all. Even some drier bitterness sligthly at the background. Very nice.

(Bottle) Brown colour with big, frothy, beige head. Malty, spicy nose with dried fruit, prunes, raisins, caramel, chocolate, toffee, oak wood, vanilla, red apples and spices. Malty, spicy taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, caramel, dark bread, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, spices (cardamom, cinnamon), apples, wood and a sweet touch of whisky in a warming finish with fairly low bitterness. Full body, sweet. Strong and fairly powerful, still harmonious and in excellent balance. Very nice.

Backlog June 2019. Well stored bottle. Unclear amber to deep golden body under a small, dense tan head. Aroma is both vinous and whisky characterized with dry fruit, caramel and some wood. Taste is very sweet, but some kind of balanced against the alcohol and bitter hops (even at only 15 IBU). Lots of dry fruit, smooth caramel, some chocolate, mild wood and warming whisky booze. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste. A really nice sipper.

Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be. Pours a murky deep mahogany colour with a medium sized off-white (fast dissipating) head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, candied sugar and a hint of wood and whisky. Taste is the same notes again with more of the wood and whiskey coming through with some added syrup and brown sugar. Alcohol is noticeable but understandable for the strength. Medium to full body, fairly lively palate and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice enough but a bit too alcoholic in the end and also too cloyingly sweet which i also find with the Carolus Classic and the Carolus Christmas beer.
