Our collaboration with B. Nektar Meadery. Ghost Stories is a Braggot (fermented from both barley and from honey) that was brewed with lager yeast, making it a truly unique experience. The honey used for the mead portion is Meadowfoam, which is most notable for its huge marshmallow flavors. We also added some chocolate, coconut, Chinese black smoked tea, and a touch of white oak as well.

RBSG 17 grand tasting. Expecting a smoked beer from the label, and instead found a nice sweet, savory braggot. Pit fruit, , savory spice, some vanilla too. Toasted marshmallows? Wonderful creamy feel, mild warmth, plums and melon. Slick and slippery.

Bottle that I have rotted for a while unfortunately. Pours quite black, reddish and clear, small beige head, disispates fairly quickly to a ring with minimal lacing. Aroma is sharp, honey and tea dominate, cocoa present as well. Flavor is medium sweet, honey, light bitterness, black tea, oak tannin. Not getting coconut, but that may be a casualty of time. Medium body, low carbonation. Interesting for sure.
