Bright citrusy unfiltered lager, this brew was borne of the brewers’ many trips to Germany. Alpine Spring features a unique blend of lager attributes: the balanced maltiness and hoppiness of a Helles, the smoothness and slightly higher alcohol of a traditional spring bock, and the unfiltered appearance of a Kellerbier. The beer is brewed with Noble Tettnang hops to add a unique, bright orange-citrusy aroma and flavor.

12oz bottle. Hazy yellow-tan. Thin, patchy white head. Sweet, but also just a hint of doughiness. A fun style, but sort of standardized by Sam Adams. Medium bodied, sessionable, mellow. Honey, pink grapefruit, light toastiness. Balanced and decent.

Slaggy smellen, stronger beefier lagerish thing. More ale ish than most lagers. A little rude but not over the top. A kindah unrefined but never triggers the gag reflex. Finish is somewhat uncivilized. Not bad overall considering.

Slightly hazy yellow-orange color, small white head. Grainy, a bit citrusy and perfumic aroma. Light bodied, crisp. Some fruity notes, grain, lemongrass. A bit similar to some German kellerbiers.

On tap. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head that laces slightly and dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet grains with grassy hops and a bit of light fruit. Flavor has notes of creamy grain with backing citrus and a bit of earthy grass.

bottle in Cincy. Quite unique - one of the better Sam Adams beers I’ve had. Fantastic citrus notes and easy to drink

Bottle: Quite a bit of citrus fruitiness here and a deeper, raw fruitiness. Malty, but lots of the lively fruit. Toes the line between and grassey lager less the grass and a fruity pale ale less the hops. Glad I didn’t have to guess the style here...
