29th August 2008. Old Tom blended with Ginger Beer. Works well. Retains the strong ale quality of Old Tom but adds a refreshing and strong ginger streak. Dry ginger finish.

330 ml bottle. Dark red body with a fine, big beige head. Aroma is totally dominated by ginger and just a hint of malt. Flavor is relatively light malty, some kind of fruity and almost burning ginger. Medium body, the ginger makes this beer feeling really refreshing. Not a balanced beer at all, too strong ginger flavor, but this is no doubt real stuff and I love ginger so I enjoy this beer anyway. Still, a bottle is enough for a while.

clear dark amber, smooth rather large offwhite head. strong ginger aroma, flowery. flavor is strong ginger, bitter from ginger, some flowers, it stings in the mouth. hardcore ginger. way too bitter and ginger strong for me.

Bottle 33cl.Clear dark amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, spicy - ginger. Flavor is moderate to heavy soda sweet with a long duration, with a ginger - peppery finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090718]

33cl bottle; Clear, mahogany colour with a big and bubbling beige foamy head. Sweet malty and slightly berry-fruity aroma with a distinctive touch of ginger, accompanied by notes of licorice and pepper. Sweet and a bit sugary flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation, almost oily mouthfeel. Robust malty, slightly fruity taste with ginger spice, getting quite sharp towards the sweet malty and peppery finish. Strange brew but it works for me. 10.IX.09

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Angelo. Pours almost clear and golden orange to brown with small off-white head. Roasted malty and ginger aroma. Roasted and breadish malty with a distinct ginger note. Light citric ginger note into the finish with a mild roasted malty note alongside. Why ruine a good beer with ginger?

330ml bottle from Sainsburys. Reddish copper with a loose white head; subdued ginger aroma; strong ginger flavour with lots of caramel sweetness then giving way to a more earthy gingeriness; then finish has even more ginger and a warming end. Very, very ginger.
