Pours a clean copper colour with a small beige head with minimal lacing. Fruity dark malt aromas with some yeast. Nice roasted malt with a little hop in the finish, adding some mild bitterness. Light molasses in the aftertaste, once it warms up. Decent brown ale with fruity notes.

Sampler from brewpub Reims as Les 3 Brasseurs Brune. Brownish coloured, medium sized off-white head, caramel nutty nose. Roasted malty aroma with notes of caramel and discreet hint of spices in the finish. Dry bitterish finish. Unfortunately just average.

Tastes kind of like nuts. I don’t see where the chocolate the menu mentions is coming from. There’s a little foam, not much tracing. Dark brown colour. In general pretty forgettable beer. Didn’t say scotch on the menu I had but then again it didn’t say much. On tap at brewpub.

At 3 Brasseurs Lille on way home from Acbf 2012. Very dark brown colour lasting beige head. Not sure its a stout. More a dark ale. Some choc some fullness. Yes too cold and a touch watery full some decent sting on finish. Its fine. some interesting malt some stingy carbonation. maybe a bit too fresh. fine

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Comes as: "Les 3 Brasseurs Brune". Pours a dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Roasty aroma, a little dark fruit as well. Medium body, roast, nuts and a whiff of vanilla. A little licorice too. Dryish finish. More of a Brown Ale. 090212

Bottled. A dark red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of fruit and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, malt, caramel, and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

Clear dark purple brown beer, small light beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: malty, caramel, mocha, sugary, touch of coffee. MF: little to no carbon, light to medium body. Taste: bit of berries, mocha, somewhat sour, caramel. Aftertaste: little bit of coffee, bitter hops. Not too bad.
