Sa saveur est d’une très grande fraîcheur dans laquelle la coriandre joue efficacement son rôle désaltérant.
La dégustation se poursuit par un grand frisson dû à l’écorce d’orange séchée.

Rocky white head stayed on cloudy pale straw coloured body. Strange herbal aroma. Medium bodied, tingles over the tongue & smooth on the back. Herbaceous, vegetal, boiled potatoes & earthy tastes with a fruity finish. What a strange beer.

# 1276; 1/2019. Sladkokyselý a docela osvěžující witbier s výraznou pomerančovou a kořenitou chutí.

Silly’s standard witbier, with egg-white, creamy, papery lacing, medium thick yet slowly middle-dissolving head and misty apricot blonde robe with pale orangey tinge. Aroma of bread crumbs, dried lemon zest, green pear, dusty and soapy coriander seed, cold pasta, wet cloth, cooked potato, banana peel, old jute rope. Fruity onset, banana ester mixed with apricot- and pear-like accents, sweetish with minerally, prickly carbonation yet acceptable for this style; smooth, soapy wheatiness with a ‘dim’ sourish edge, pleasantly bready, spiced in the end by clear coriander seed as the style prescribes (and, strangely, less obnoxiously so than in the tripel Swaf I had before this one); a quite ‘bright’ lemon peel-tinged curaçao ‘fraîcheur’ pops up as well, making the finish a bit ‘zingy’ and tangy and in that sense very refreshing. Quenching, very elegant example of the style, classic and old school alright, but – for me – above average within that specific segment.

Cloudy yellow. Moderate white head. Nose: white bread, spices, light phenolic hints, citrus fruit. Light body. Taste: sweetish, fruity, spicy, lightly phenolic. Not my kind of witbier.
